بتأريخه للتلفزيون وفيه وبه، أثبت مروان نجّار أنه ليس فقط صاحب موهبة حاكت الإنسان بكليته، بل أيضاً صاحب "رؤية ورؤيا" ومشروع، إستناداً إلى إتقان رفيع للغات الإنكليزية والعربية والفرنسية، وثقافة موسوعيّة، عمادها الأوّل إجازة في الأدب المقارن من الجامعة الأميركية في بيروت، وأعمدتها المتشابكة: مجهود حثيث وشغف جامح للمعرفة، وذكاء تحليلي متقد، وموهبة قياديّة قطريّة واثقة الخطى.
إنها قصة العقود الأربعة، بحلوها، ومرّها، ومجدها، وخيباتها المتواصلة منذ العام 1976- لعنها الأطول في تاريخ التلفزيون في لبنان، والواعدة بآفاقٍ جديدة وإنتاج مختمر من شموس خبرة طويلة، ومن معاقرة مسارح وشاشات لندن وأميركا، أوليسَ هو القائل: "فأنا قد بلغت من العمر عتيّاً... ولم تُقعدني في صروفٌ أو ظروف... لذلك أحلامي كثيرة وهي تمشي... تمشي في كلّ إتجاه، ولا تنتهي، أتراها من طينة الأحلام أم... أضغاث ذكريات؟".
