لا يخفى ما لمكانة الأولياء عند الله - جل جلالُه! - من الرفعة والحفظ والصيانة والوقاية والنصرة والإمداد، ولا يجهل ما لهم عند خالقهم - تبارك تعالى! من الغَيْرَة لهم، والفوزِ بمحبتهم، والسعادة بصحبتهم، والأمن بالركون إليهم.
يعرف هذا كُلُّ من قرأ عن شريف أحوالهم في كتاب الله تعالى وسنّة رسوله المصطفى صلى الله عليه وسلم، وإن الأولياء تتفاوت مراتبهم بتفاوت إختصاصهم، فقد يكون الولي لله هو الوارثَ الجامعَ الفَرْدَ في زمانه، وقد تكون له الوظيفة الظاهرة لدى الناس، وربما جمع بين الحالين والطورين.
وإن صاحب الترجمة السيد عليّاً الخُزَام واحد ممن سلك طريق الله تعالى، وقد جاءت ترجمته مطوّلة وذلك لإبراز ما كان يتمتع به السيد المترجَم؛ من شمائل الإختصاص، ومناقب أهل الخواصّ، التي منها "ذكر النسبة الأحمدية"، "ذكر النسب الخالدي"، "ذكر إخوته الكرام، العارفين الأعلام"، "ذكر جدته السيدة زينب أم الرجال"، "ذكر جده السيد عبد الرحيم ممهِّد الدولة أبي الأقطاب"، "ذكر جده الإمام المكين، السيد أحمد عز الدين، الصيادِ الرفاعي الحسيني، دفين مِتْكِيْن"، "إفراده لذكر جده السيد أبي العَلَمين، مع التنصيص على جميع طرقه النسبية، ومَنْقَبة مَدِّ اليد النبوية الشريفة له رضي الله عنه".
