تعتقد المسيحية الأصولية المعاصرة أن هذه الأيام هي أيام ولادة المسيح الثانية، ويرتكزون في ذلك على ماجاء في العهد القديم والجديد، وخصوصاً (رؤيا يوحنا) التي هي من أطول النبوءات، وأكثرها تعقيداً، ولكن يجب أن يسبق ظهور المسيح تحقيق دولة إسرائيل الكبرى، بعد ذلك يظهر ليزيل هذه الدولة ويستتب العدل في الأرض، ودولة إسرائيل هذه لم تشر إليها رؤيا يوحنا إطلاقاً، وإنما إشارات موجودة في العهد العتيق، ونلاحظ أن الذين يقودون هذا الإتجاه أيامنا هذه، السلطة الحاكمة في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، التي تبنت أفكار المسيحية الأصولية وصرحت في أكثـر مـن مـورد عـن غايتها الأساسية؛ ولكننا كمسلمين نعتقد أن المسيح عند ظهـوره أحـد القيـادات الإسلامية الرئيسية، وتوجد أدلة عديدة أوردناها في هذا الكتاب؛ وأما معالجتنا لسفر (رؤيا يوحنا) فليس على غرار الكتب المتداولة من تسفيه لمحتوياتها وتكذيب لنبوءاتها، وقد حصل ذلك لأن مؤلفيها أما أن يكونوا من الأكاديميين العلمانيين، أو، الإسلاميين الذين أعرضوا عن تراث آل محمد (عليهم السلام)، فكانت تفسيراتهم والنتائج التي توصلوا إليها لا تجد طريقاً نحو المشتركات بين الأديان الثلاثة، التي يجب التعامل معها طولياً، بصرف النظر عن التحريف في النص، أو، التأويل، فلا يمكن أن تكون هذه الأديان سماوية ولا يكون بينهما مشترك، على مستوى التاريخ، أو، العقائد، أو، الفقه. والله تعالى من وراء القصد.
