والعلامة الألوسي هو أحد أعلام المصلحين الذين انتشرت حسناتهم ومؤلفاتهم في بلادهم وخارجها، وكان من العلماء الأذكياء المطلعين المخلصين المتجردين للسنة، وقد كتب عن هذا العلم الكثير، لكنه يستحق دراسة موسعة لأخباره، وآثاره، وتدرجه نحو تصفية السنة وتنقية العقيدة، رغم ظروف زمانه ومكانه.
