لا يخفى على المراقب الحصيف دور رجال التقريب وروّاده في نشر وترويج الفكر الإصلاحي في الأوساط الثقافيّة والفكريّة الإسلاميّة وعلى أكثر من مستوى.
وهذا ما دعى المحقق إلى تحقيق مجموعة "طلايه داران تقريب" (روّاد التقريب) وتهذيبها والإستدراك عليها؛ ومنها هذا الكتاب الذي خصه بالحديث عن الشيخ "محمد عبده" وجعله ضمن فصول تتمحور حولها أهم مميّزات ومراحل حياة الشيخ؛ فقد ذكر نسبه وشيئاً عن أسرته في الفصل الأول وتناول الفصل الثاني أساتذته وتلامذته وتحدث في الفصل الثالث عن مؤلفاته، وضم الفصل الرابع الكلام عن "عبده" الأستاذ، أما الخامس فيتحدث عن جهاده من أجل الإصلاح والسادس من الفصول يحتوي على ذكر دوره التقريبي وجهوده الوحدوية، أما السابع وهو الفصل الذي يختتم به الكتاب فقد ضم أحداث وفاته وأرثه الثقافي.
