الشاعر علي الجلاوي شاعر بحريني معاصر ولد بمدينة المنامة 1975م، تميز شعره بالثورية في أول حياته ثم أخذ المنحى الإنساني. يعيش في البحرين ومن أشهر مؤلفاته ديوان (دلمونيات)،بدأ يكتب الشعر في سن الرابعة عشرة، اعتقل لأول مرة في سن السابعة عشرعن قصيدة انتقد فيها الوضع القائم في البحرين، ثم اعتقل مرة أخرى في الأحداث الحقوقية التي عصفت بالبحرين منذ عام 1995 حتى العام 1998م.

لم يكن لنفاذ الطبعة الأولى من كتاب (يهود البحرين) الدافع الوحيد لإعادة طباعته، هي محاولة لجعل المعلومة تصل لأكبر قدر من الناس، ومحاولة لشكر المؤلف على الجهد الذي تكبده، في تسليط الضوء على مائة سنة مغيبة من تاريخ البحري الشفوي، ومائة سنة من أسئلة ضلت رهينة الصمت، وحين يشرع الجلاوي أسئلته وتدوينه للتاريخ الشفوي، نتأكد أن هناك متسعاً للتسامح، شريطة المعرفة المرضية قد لا تكون كاملة أو صحيحة بالمطلق، لكنها معرفة تستحق التأمل.
