يجمع الأستاذ "عبد المجيد الخيالي" بين طيات هذا الكتاب رسالتين، الأولى رسالة جامعة مشتملة على الكثير من المواعظ والأوامر، والنصائح وجهها أبي علي المولى بن عبد الرحمن "إلى الأمة والولاة عند مطلع القرن الرابع عشر الهجري، يأمرهم فيها بالمعروف، وينهاهم عن المنكر. ابتدأ الشيخ رسالته بمقدمة في العقيدة، وثنى بالحض على أركان الإسلام، وموردا بعض أهم المعاصي التي يجب تجنبها، وبين واجب الولاة والعلماء. أما الرسالة الثانية فهي للشيخ فتح الله البناني وهي مرتكزة على توجيه القلب لله والامتناع عما حرمه الله من الكبائر وغض النظر عما حرمه الله...
ولما كان لهاتين الرسالتين من أهمية وذلك لما تحتويانه من معلومات مفيدة وقيمة في مجال الأمر بالمعروف والنهي عن المنكر فقد عني المحقق بجمّعهما وتحقيقها وتخريج ما بهما من الآيات والأحاديث النبوية الشريفة معتمداً بذلك على كتب التخريج وفهارس كتب الحديث، كما وعني بشرح الألفاظ الغريبة معتمداً بذلك على كتاب اللغة "لسان العرب" لابنّ منظور. هذا وقد الحق الكتاب بفهرس للموضوعات وآخر للمراجع والمصادر التي اعتمد عليها أثناء البحث.
