فهو رسام وموسيقي وكاتب، اختار منذ بداياته الفنية خط الفن الحديث، والنمط التجريبي الارتجالي.
فرض كرباج نفسه من خلال رسومه التي ينشرها في الصحف وعلى مواقع الإنترنت، والتي تشق طريقها إلى المعارض، ومن خلال موسيقاه التي يعزفها في حفلاته وجولاته مع موسيقيين عالميين.
في مسيرته التي انطلقت في عام 2000، أنتج كرباج ما يزيد عن الـ14 كتاباً على طريقة الشريط المصور، منها "هذه القصة تجري" و"ناس من بيروت".

قد يكون الفنّ ترفاً وغنًى في حالة السلم، ولكنّه عند الحرب يغدو ضرورةً وإسعافاً لحقٍّ لا يكون بغيره، وبديهة الفنّان إذا ما حضرت ساعة الواقعة فشهدت عليها تجرّدٍ، تراها كالمرآة لا تكذب.
عايش مازن كرباج حرب إسرائيل على لبنان في تمّوز - آب 2006 يوماً بيوم، وكان تحت وقعها يرسم ويكتب إنعكاسات العنف وشراسته، وينشرها يوميّاً في مدونته الإلكترونيّة، قبل أن يجمعها في كتابٍ صدر أواخر العام نفسه في باريس بالفرنسيّة تحت عنوان Beyrouth juillet - août 2006.
يصدر هذا الكتاب للمرّة الأولى باللغة العربيّة، في الذكرى العاشرة لعدوانٍ يتنقّل ولا يكفّ.
مازن كرباج رسّام وموسيقيّ من لبنان، ينشر رسومه في الصحف وله العديد من الكتب المصوّرة بالعربيّة والفرنسيّة، وهو أيضاً من مؤسّسي مهرجان "إرتجال" للموسيقى التجريبيّة.
