يعمل حالياً مدرساً لمادة الشعر الأمريكي الحديث في جامعة دمشق- قسم اللغة الإنكليزية.
حائز على إجازة في اللغة الإنكليزية وآدابها من جامعة دمشق عام 1985.
وعلى ماجستير في مسرح إبسن من جامعة نيويورك عام 1992.
وعلى شهادة دكتوراه في الأدب الأمريكي المعاصر- عن إطروحته بعنوان (ولاس ستيفنس: تخيل صوفي أسمى) 1995.
صدر له: في الشعر: "طواف الآفل" (بيروت 1998دار الكنوز الأدبية)، "باتجاه متاه آخر" (بيروت 1999 دار الكنوز الأدبية) و"لن أكلم العاصفة" (بيروت 2000 دار الكنوز الأدبية).
زمن ترجماته: "قلق التأثر" اهارولد بلوم (1998 دار الكنوز الأدبية)، "خريطة للقراءة الضالة" لهارولد بلوم (2000 دار الكنوز الأدبية)، "سبع ليال" لخورخي لويس بورخس (1999 دار الينابيع) و"نصف حياة" لـ ف.

Book Description
إنّها شذراتٌ فحسب ومضاتٌ حائرةٌ بين النثر والشعر أوحتْ بها الحربُ التي تعصفُ بالسوريين، منذ سنواتٍ هباء، ينصهرُ فيها الحدثُ بالمخيلة، والسيرةُ الذاتيةُ بالفانتازيا.
والكتابةُ بدأت في فجرِ اليوم الأوّل، مع أوّلِ طلقةٍ اخترقَ أزيزُها عنانَ السّماء، بينما كنتُ أحضّر قهوتي الصّباحية، وأفكّر بيوم ميلادي، الذي يصادفُ اللحظةَ الأولى من بزوغ أوّل خيطٍ لشّمس العام الجديد، حيث تجدني أرمي في سلّةِ المهملات، روزنامةَ العام الفائت، بمواعيدها وتنهّداتها وأحداثها، وأتنفسُ الصعداءَ، كأنّ حملاً ثقيلاً سقطَ عن كاهلي، ما يجعلني أشعرُ بإنعدام الوزنِ، متحولاً إلى كائن خرافيِّ، يحلّقُ في فضاء السّديم كشخصيات ميلان كونديرا.
في هذا الصباح الخلّبي، ضرب البرقُ موعداً مع نافذتي، ممزقاً الوردةَ الشتوية على الشّرفة الشّمالية للمنزل، كان الضبابُ قد حلّ ضيفاً ثقيلاً على الأشياء من حولي، كأنّما خرج للتوِّ من لوحةٍ سرياليةٍ صامتة، ماحياً أثناء عبوره، المآذنَ والكنائسَ وأعمدةَ الكهرباء، متنقّلاً بين السّطوح القرميدية المتهاوية مثل سرابٍ يخمشُ القرميدية المتهاوية مثل سرابٍ يخمشُ بأظافرهِ زجاجَ النّوافذ.
في تلك اللحظةِ، بدتْ دمشقُ ورقةً مشقوقةً من كتابٍ عتيقٍ، رماها الربُّ الغاضبُ في مهبّ ريحٍ صفراء، تعلو ثم تهوي، ثم تعلو، وتتدحرجُ من أعلى قمّةِ قاسيون، حروفُها تتطايرُ كالقش بين بيوتٍ عتيقةٍ، لا يسكنُ خلف عتباتِها سوى الأشباح.
