محاولة أولى لجمع ورصد تاريخ نضالات الحركة النقابية العمالية اعتمدت فيها على ذاكرة ومذكرات بعض قيادات وفعاليات الحركة النقابية عبر تاريخها الطويل ومنذ وعت القاعدة العمالية وفعالياتها النشطة الواعية إلى حجم الظلم والإجحاف والسلب لحقوقها الذي مارسته الطبقات المهيمنة على الثروة والقوار السياسي. بعض من هذه الذكريات سردها أو كتبها بعض الفعاليات من رواد الحركة النقابية التي عاشت الأحداث وأثرت وتأثرت بها وقدمت سنوات شبابها قرباتا لهذه الحركة ودفاعاً عن مصالح الطبقة العاملة. وبعضها الآخر تم جمعه من وثائق وإصدارات الحركة النقابية وتنظيماتها نفسها. بعضها تم نشره والبعض الآخر-حسب معلوماتي- ينشر لأول مرة على الأقل لقطاع واسع ممكن لم يكونوا في السن الذي يمكنهم من استيعاب الأحداث وتداعياتها خلال حدوثها. وأهم ما في هذا الكتاب أنه جمع تاريخ نضال عمال البحرين عبر عقود طويلة ضد الطبقات المهيمنة على الثروة والقرار السياسي والاقتصادي. تلك الطبقات والفئات التي عمدت ليس فقط إلى حرمانها من حقوقها واستغلالها، بل ,إلى منعها من السعي لوحدتها وتشكيل منظماتها وأطرها النقابية تارة بتشريع القوانين المجحفة وتارة بالقمع وقطع الأرزاق والسجون والمعتقلات.
