"الإمام علي أمير المؤمنين" مجموعة في 8 أجزاء تحكي سيرة عظيم من عظماء الأمة الإسلامية نقرأ فيه صفحات مشرفة ترسم صوراً حية لشخصية الإمام علي بن أبي طالب في دفاعه عن الإسلام وتضحيته ونصرته لرسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم. هو أمير المؤمنين علي بن أبي طالب بن عبد المطلب بن هاشم بن عبد مناف القرشي الهاشمي، أبو الحسن رضي الله عنه وأرضاه.
وفي هذا الكتاب يسلط الكاتب "الشيخ نزيه القميحا" الأضواء على جميع ما روي عن الإمام علي رضي الله عنه من كبار علماء المسلمين الذين رووا سيرته منذ ولادته مروراً بمراحل دعوته إلى الإسلام وحروبه وحكمه وإسهامه في نصرة الإسلام والمسلمين، وصولاً إلى استشهاده. ومن هؤلاء المحدثين الذين أخذ عنهم مؤلف الكتاب بجزءيه ما رواه أحمد بن حنبل وأحمد بن عبد الله الطبري والذهبي وإبن حجر وإبن عساكر والحمويني الجويني وإبن المغازلي وإبن شيرويه الديلمي والكليني وإبن قولويه وإبن كثير والهيثمي والنسائي وغيرهم كثير.
يقول الشيخ الطوسي في ولادته "إنه ولد بمكة في البيت الحرام، يوم الجمعة لثلاث عشرة خلت من رجب، بعد عام الفيل بثلاثين سنة، وقُبض قتيلاً بالكوفة ليلة الجمعة لتسع ليالٍ بقين من شهر رمضان سنة أربعين من الهجرة وله يومئذٍ ثلاث وستون سنة".
ومن نفحات هذه السيرة العطرة نقتبس للقارىء الكريم بعضاً من شذراتها:
في قوله "سلوني قبل أن تفقدوني": "فوالذي خلق الحبة وبرأ النسمة! لو سألتموني عن أية آية في ليل أنزلت أو في نهار أنزلت، مكيّها ومدنيها، سفريها وحضريها، ناسخها ومنسوخها، محكمها ومتشابهها، تأويلها وتنزيلها، لأخبرتكم".
