تميزت إيما الفتاة القروية الفقيرة بـجمال ساحر جعلها دائماً محط الأنظار والإعجاب من الجميــع . وما إن بلغت الرابعه عشره من العمر حتى بدأت التلاعب بشباب القريه مزهوة بـجمالها وفتنتها المبكـرة.
الحقتها والدتها في بعض الاعمال لمساعدة عائلتها الفقيرة، فعرفت معنى الكد والتعب والجـوع .. فـعملت خادمة في منزل " الدكتور بد". وعندما رحل الى لندن رحلت معه، لتصبح هناك إحدى سيدات المجتمع الإرستقراطي بفضل جمالها الذي جعلها ضيفة في قصور عشاقها الأغنياء.
إلى أن تعرفت على "رومني" فنان بريطانيا الأعظم الذي بُهر بجمالها وأراد أن يستأثر بها لوحده. وكان له ما أراد. حيث صحب "إيما " إلى مرسمه لينتج لها 25 لوحة! كانت بداية تألقها وشهرتها، وهي في الواقع ليست إلا دمية جميلة يلهو بها العشاق، ولولا ريشة الفنان رومني التي صورت ملامحها لنا، لاندثرت سيرتها بين ركام السنين.
