(جرح على الجمر) كتاب يجمع بين النثر والشعر والتأملات الخاصة بكاتبها "موريس الهاشم" وإن طغت النصوص النثرية على مثيلاتها الشعرية من حيث الكم، ومع ذلك، تكاد النصوص بالتحديد لا تخلو من المنحى الشعري بشكل عام. فالمفردات المستخدمة في هذه النصوص حمالة أوجه لا تستقر على معان بذاتها لأنها تحتمل التأويل في ما تنطوي عليها من رموز وإشارات تتجاوز الكلمة إلى المعنى الكامن في داخلها، والأمر عينه، ينطبق، بشكل أو بآخر على النصوص الشعرية وقد وضع بعضها على الوزن والقافية وأخرى بشكل حرّ، ومنها نقرأ قصيدة بعنوان ]صخرة براقة[ يقول فيها: "تقول: هل هناك حب بلا عذاب؟ / أقول لها: وهي هناك حياة بلا حب؟ / لو أنك نسمة ... لو أنك طفلة ... / أذوب في وجد عليه أمينة / ( ...) لقلبي صخرة تعلت على الدهر / مثال الصبر .. لا يخشى أوانه ( ...)".
أيضا يضم الكتاب مقالات نشرت سابقا، أعاد الهاشم النظر فيها وصوب بعضها وهي بمثابة قراءة في أعمال غيره من الأدباء مثل: أنطون غطاس، وسعيد عقل، وجوزف الهاشم وباسمة بطولي وإلياس أبو شبكة وآخرون.
