إن الصعوبة في كتابة مثل هذا المدخل إلى الآداب الأوروبية لا تكمن في هذا الأمر وحده - أعنى إتساع الآداب الأوروبية وتنوعها - وإنما في أشياء كثيرة، منها إلتزام حد معين يراعى فيه الوقت لطلاب السنة الرابعة من قسم اللغة العربية، وهو ثمانية أشهر، مع مراعاة المحصول الثقافي لهؤلاء الطلبة، ولذلك يبقى السؤال ماثلاً أمام المؤلف على الدوام: كيف تسهّل هذه المادة لهؤلاء الطلبة الذين يواجهونها أوّل مرة؟.
