إن مؤلّف هذا الكتاب هو محمد صدّيق بن حسن بن علي بن لطف الله الحسيني البخاري القنوجي، أبو الطيّب. ولد في التاسع عشر من شهر جمادي الأولى سنة ثمان وأربعين ومئتين وألف من الهجرة ببلدة "بريلي". وكان من صغره يجتهد في طلب العلم فأتقن علوم القرآن والسنة، وشغِف بتحصيل علوم التفسير والحديث والأصول، ثم سافر إلى مدينة "بهوبال" سعياً للرزق، ففاز بثروة عظيمة فتوطّن بها واستوزر وتزوجة بملكة "بهوبال" وصار لقبه: نواب عالي الجاه أمير الملك بهادر.
وقد خلّف مؤلّفات كثيرة، منها هذا الكتاب الذي بين أيدينا حيث جمع فيه جوامع من أحكام الخلافة والسياسة الإلهية والإمامة والإيالة النبوية، التي لا يستغني عنها الراعي والرعيّة في قطر من أٌقطار البريّة، بعبارة مفيدة، وإشارة مفيضة، ومسائل مرضية، من غير أطالة وإكثار ولا إجحاف مخل بالغرض ولا اختصار. بل وسط بن الطرفين، وطريق بين بين، آخذاً لها من كتب أئمّة الأمّة. وشيوخ الملّة الحقّة وقادتها. وقد عنون الكتاب "إكليل الكرامة في تبنان مقاصد الإمامة"، ورتّبه على مقدمة وفصول وخاتمة.
