بنطلق الكاتب في هذه الدراسة من تسليط الضوء على أهمية العامل الإيديولوجي في التحولات السياسية والإجتماعية، الإقتصادية والتقنية نفسها، بما يطلق عليه الوعي الإيديولوجي.
ومعنى الوعي الإيديولوجي هو تجاوز الواقع الموضوعي والكشف عنه وضرورة تجاوزه، والحياة البشرية هي أصلاً عمل يسعى معه الإنسان لأن يحقق ذاته من خلال نزعة الطموح القطرية عنده التي تجعله يفهم الواقع ويحاول تخطيه.
وبهذا يتميز الإنسان عن سائر الكائنات، وبذلك فإن وجود الإنسان يعني إحتمالاً متحرراً بإتجاه تحقيق هذا الوجود لإعطاء حياته معنى في هذا الكون، ولو لم يكن الإنسان على هذه الحالة من الدينامية الذهنية لبقي مسمّراً إلى واقعه البدائي الجامد ولما كان استطاع أن يحلّق ما وراء الواقع ليحقق هذه الإنجازات الرائعة التي كادت تبلغ حد المعجزات.
والكاتب كعادته في كل مؤلفاته، لا ينكر دور العامل الإقتصادي في صنع التاريخ، ولكنه لا يحله في المرتبة الأولى في تفسير الأحداث الكبرىا، وكعادته أيضاً يسير على منهج أسلوبي واحد، من حيث الوضوح الفكري والتسلسل المنطقي المدعّم بالشواهد التاريخية ليصل إلى النتائج التي يريد إيصالها إلى القارئ وترسيخها في ذهنه.
فيرى أن غيفارا في دعوته إلى الحرب الشعبية اتجه أساساً إلى المثقفين حيث كتب يقول: "إن قادة الحرب الشعبية ليسوا رجالاً تقوست ظهورهم يوماً بعد يوم فوق الحقول، بل رجال يدركون ضرورة تغيير المعاملة الإجتماعية التي يخضع لها الفلاحون من دون أن يكونوا قد عانوا هم أنفسهم هذه المعاملة المرة".
واللينينية نفسها، لم تثق بعفوية الجماهير أو التطور الإقتصادي الإجتماعي، طريقاً إلى الثورة والنظام الجديد، ولهذا أصبح الحزب يملك وحده فكره هذا النظام.
وإعداد الثورة يعني التثقيف الثوري، لأن الجماهير لن تتطور أبداً إلى المستوى الوعي الإشتراكي من دون هذا التثقيف الثور، لأن الجماهير لن تتطور أبداً إلى مستوى الوعي الإشتراكي من دون هذا التثقيف الذي يكون من واجب الحزب أن يهتم به ويمارسه بشكل فعال.
