بتأسيس الخطاب الشعري عند غابرييل عطو في "إلهي... إلهي لماذا لم تتركني؟" من جملة شفرات لغوية ذات دلالات شعرية قائمة على السؤال عن معانٍ عصية على التفسير "الوجود، الكون، الخير، الشر..." وغيرها من العناصر التكوينية التي تشتمل عليها البنى الكلية للنص ومن العنوان، حيث يتحرك الشاعر من نقطة لا تقف عند مرجعية نصية حينما نراه يشرع بإنتاجات النص الدلالية بمفتاح يربك القارئ أي بتعبير "امبرتو إيكو": "إن يشوش الأفكار وليس يوحدها"، لنقف بالتالي عند إحتمالية المعنى وتعدديته، وتوهانه "هذا الكتاب للسائحين في هذا الكون... الباحثين عن أجزائهم المكسورة بين الغرباء... إلى هؤلاء يقدم الشاعر كتابه بلغة شعرية وفلسفية موحيّة ينتظم عبرها المعاني بما فيها من حمولات دلالية، مع الصور الشعرية لنوادي وظيفتها في أداء شعري متميز، لنقرأ المقطع الآتي: "... الشر يكره الموت... لأن الموت من دعاة الخير... الشر لا يستطيع أن يملأ الموت... لكنه يستطيع أن يملأ الحياة... الخير يستطيع أن يملأ الموت... وقليلاً من الشر... ولا شيء من الحياة... الموت هزيمة أخرى ضد الشر... اليأس البارد... هناك دائماً تفاصيل يراها الموت لا يراها الشر... أقوى قوة عند الشر هي ضعفه أمام الخير".
تلك هي فلسفة الشاعر وقد استنطق فيها قوى الخير والشر عبر سلسلة أفكار حلمية وإنفعالية وذاتية (شخصانية) بالدرجة الأولى؛ يتوزع الكتاب على سبع مقاطع شعرية وردت بلا عناوين.
