باللغة يحقق الإنسان إنسانيته، بواسطتها يثبت وجوده وتعامله مع الآخرين، بها يؤكد منزلته كعضو فاعل ومنتج في مختلف الفضاءات الإجتماعات، حيث تعتبر اللغة إحدى مقومات الأمة نظراً لدورها في بناء وتجدير الشعور بالإنتماء إلى مجموعة لها خصوصيتها الثقافية كما تمثل اللغة أحد العناصر الأساسية للهوية والتي لا يقتصر مضمونها على التضامن المكون للذات الجماعية فحسب إنما يتمد إلى الفاعلية التاريخية التي تتجلى - عبر اللغة - بالمقدرة على المشاركة في الإنتاج الحضري أي في الإضافة الفكرية لأن الهوية بناء تاريخي متجدد، وهذا يعني أن اللغة هي أيضاً في صلب ديناميكية التطور.
والخطاب العربي اتصف بالقداسة ففي العديد من النصوص - قديمها وحديثها - أكد ولا يزال يؤكد على قوة فاعليته في التاريخ الثقافي العربي ماضياً وحاضراً ومستقبلاً.
قد يجوز القول بأن المسألة اللغوية إزدادت أهمية مع تعدد البث المباشر والذي كشف بوضوح شمولية ظاهرة الإزدواجية اللغوية - الفصحى والعامية - وتعميمها في عملية إنتاج المضامين بالنسبة لأغلب القنوات العامة والخاصة.
إن الوقوف على واقع ما يبث يومياً يفضي إلى نتائج تعكس توجهاً يتصف بإتساع مساحة التوظيف للهجات المحلية وبداية تقلص منزلة الفصحى في البرمجة التلفزيونية.
إن الإختفاء خلف مبرر تيسير الإبلاغ والتلقي قد ينفيه إهتمام جمهور المشاهدين الأصلية هذا بالإضافة إلى التأثير السلبي في عملية تكوين النشء؛ إن اللهجات تخضع كغيرها من وسائل الإتصال لمبدأ التطور، غير أن التداخل لم تؤكد البحوث إيجابيته.
فهل تعني هذه الظاهرة أن التلفزيون تخلى عن وظائفه السياسية التي حددها عند إنطلاق البث عبر الصورة والصوت، ومن أهمها إثبات الذات الثقافية؟... وهل تعني هذه الظاهرة أن اللهجات المحلية لا حظ لها في الإنتاج التلفزيوني وفي عملية الإبلاغ؟... وكيف التوفيق بين لغة الحياة اليومية واللغة العربية الفصحى؟... وأي لغة عربية غداً؟...
