تتعرض المملكة العربية السعودية منذ الحادي عشر من سبتمبر/أيلول عام 2001 وحتى قبل ذلك التاريخ، لحملة مغرضة من وسائل الإعلام الغربية التي تتهمها تارة بدعم الإرهاب عبر ما تقدم من تمويل للجمعيات الإسلامية وتارة بالتغاضي عن تصرفات السعوديين في إشارة منها إلى أن أسامة بن لادن هو من أصل سعودي وأن بعض الذين قاموا بالاعتداء على واشنطن ونيويورك هم أيضاً من أصل سعودي. ويبدو أن وسائل إعلام الغربية التي تتحرك ضد المملكة العربية السعودية بإيعاز من جهات دولية مشبوهة قد تناست أن الإرهاب ليس له جنسية محددة وأنه قد يطال أي دولة في العالم، وأن العرب تحديداً قد عانوا منه قبل غيرهم.
وهذا الكتاب يحاول أن يبين أبعاد وخلفيات الحملة التي تتعرض لها المملكة العربية السعودية، كما يلقي الأضواء على واقعها وإمكانياتها، ودورها الوطني والإقليمي والدولي، كما حاول إلقاء الأضواء على طبيعة التحديات والمخاطر التي تواجه وستواجه السعودية طيلة القرن الحادي والعشرين.
