"على فرض أن الناس سيكونون بأجساد متعددة وذاكرات كثيرة، إذن ستكون هنالك بداية أخرى.. هذه بعض من إشارات فقيرة لما سيراه الباقون والمبعوثون وقتها، عسى شجون الغيب تصبح قريبة، ونكف عن استحضار أزمان مملة، تزداد قتامة كلما اقتربت من الزوال".
بهذه العبارة يقدم المؤلف لروايته كما نخب ونشتهي التي تبدأ بالبطل وهو يطارد نسياناً مصنوعاً ويتذكر سراً مدفوناً في مكان ما من أعماقه.. وقد وافق هذا وهو يتطلع من النافذة إلى أرض الدار بينما كانت يجلس على طرف سريره. لحظة عابرة، لم تتمكم من طمس تفاصيلها الحدث الذي بدأت ملامحه تتشكل روايداً رويداً، الصلة بين البطل والعالم الخارجي قائمة، لكنها تنعدم لحظة يرتد إلى داخله.
الكاتب يتمكن منذ الصفحات الأولى من أسر القارئ الذي تتولد لديه حالة انتظار وترقب تدفعه إلى مواصلة القراءة حتى النهاية، بعد أن نجح الكاتب في أن يوحي له بالرؤى والأفكار التي يطرحها في روايته.
تمددت على صفحة الماء كأنها تنام طافية، فأحاطت وجهها هالة من السواد الفاحم. خيوط من شعرها الأسود تلمح وهي في الماء، وتنتشر فيه ممتدة وسائبة لتجعل لوجهها هالة أشبه بالقمر في يوم رصاصي مائل إلى الهجران. أحسست بقلبها يغوص في الأعماق، وجسدها يرتفع طافياً، وكل الأشجار والنخيل وزحمة الطيور والعصافير والهوام تنظر صوبها مأخوذة بمصيرها، بحبها له وحبه لها، باشتياقها الذي لا يكف عن الفيضان..
