بدعوة من مركز الإمام الصدر للأبحاث والدراسات بالتعاون مع مركز الدراسات السياسية والدولية التابع للوزارة الخارجية الإيرانية، انعقد مؤتمر كلمة سواء تحت عنوان "المقاومة والمجتمع المقاوم" يومي 23 و24 تشرين الثاني في فندق الماريوت ببيروت، ويوم 25 تشرين الثاني في مبنى المجلس الإسلامي الشيعي الأعلى حيث استمع المؤتمرون إلى كلمات كل من سماحة الإمام محمد مهدي شمس الدين، رئيس المجلس الإسلامي الشيعي الأعلى، وكلمة نائبه الشيخ عبد الأمير قبلان، وكلمة كل من السيد حسن نصر الله، أمين عام حزب الله، ورئيس حركة أمل دولة رئيس مجلس النواب الأستاذ نبيه بري. واعتبر المؤتمران كل واحدة من هذه الكلمات هي وثيقة من وثائق المؤتمر. هذه الكلمات التي ركزت على قضية اختطاف الإمام الصدر ورفيقيه الشيخ محمد يعقوب والأستاذ عباس بدر الدين في ليبيا، ومسؤوليتهما عنها، وسبل حلها بالسرعة القصوى.
كان المؤتمر قد استمع في جلسته الافتتاحية إلى السيدة رباب الصدر شرف الدين وإلى كلمات رؤساء المجالس والعائلات الروحية اللبنانية وكلمة الدكتور كمال خرازي وزير خارجية جمهورية "إيران" الإسلامية، وذلك بحضور فخامة رئيس الجمهورية اللبنانية ودولة رئيس مجلس النواب ورئيس مجلس الوزراء.
ثم تداول على مدى يومين من المحاور التالية: حول استراتيجية المقاومة في تجربة الإمام الصدر، حول ثقافة المجتمع المقاوم في رواية الإمام الصدر، آفاق المستقبل. وهذا الكتاب الذي نقدمه للقارئ يضمّ بين طياته وقائع هذه المؤتمر، وكلمات جميع المشاركين فيه، هذا إلى جانب التوصيات التي خلص إليها المؤتمرون.
