يتناول هذا الكتاب جميع موضوعات دراسة الجدوى الإقتصادية، إبتداءً من تبيان أهمية دراسة الجدوى الإقتصادية وتحديد مفهومها وأهدافها وموقعها من دورة حياة المشروع، وتأكيد دورها كإستشارة إدارية، ومن ثم تتبع مراحل دراسة الجدوى الإقتصادية، إبتداءاً من مرحلة تشخيص الفكرة، ثم المرحلة التمهيدية، والمرحلة التحليلية بما تتضمنه من دراسات السوق والتسويق، والدراسات الفنية والتكنولوجية والهندسية والإدارية.
فالدراسات المالية، إبتداءاً بتقدير التكاليف الرأسمالية وتكاليف الإنتاج، ومروراً بالتدفقات النقدية، والقوائم المالية التقديرية للمشروع، ومن ثم تقييم المشروع، سواء كان ذلك في ظل ظروف التأكد بإستخدام كلا من الطرق المعدلة وغير المعدلة بالوقت، أو في ظل ظروف عدم التأكد بإستخدام تحليل مخاطر المشروع، كما يُعرج الكتاب قليلاً على تقييم المشروعات القومية غير الهادفة للربح ويشرح طرق تقييمها.
ويهدف هذا الكتاب إلى أن يكون كتاباً منهجياً لطلاب دراسة الجدوى الإقتصادية وتقييم المشروعات، لمستوى البكالوريوس ومستوى الماجستير الذين يدرسون هذه المواد في مختلف الكليات والجامعات، وذلك نظراً لتسلسل معلوماته ودقتها ووضوحها، حيث أُعتمد في هذا الكتاب على الأسلوب البسيط الواضح والمراجع الموثقة الأصيلة، وأن يكون هذا الكتاب دليلاً لإعداد دراسات الجدوى الإقتصادية وتقييم المشروعات أو للمتعاملين معها من المستثمرين ورجال الأعمال المقاولين والممولين.
