تعمل الدكتورة مارلين نصر أستاذةً باحثةً ومساعدةً لمدير شؤون البحث العلمي في المركز العربي للأبحاث ودراسة السياسات في مكتب بيروت.
تتولى تقييم الأبحاث المقترحة للنشر كما تساهم في إعداد الندوات، والمؤتمرات العلمية، والتنسيق بين المركز والمؤسسات البحثية والجامعية في لبنان.
نشرت العديد من الكتب والدراسات في العلوم الاجتماعية، وتعدّ حاليًّا كتابًا عن منهجيات تحليل الخطاب للحكّام الجدد ومعارضيهم في دول عربية مختلفة.
كما تقوم بتحديث كتابها "الإسلام والديمقراطية في حقل التعليم في الأردن" وترجمته.
عملت مديرةً للدراسات في مركز دراسات الوحدة العربية (2011 - 2012)، ومديرة مركز التدريب الاجتماعي في وزارة الشؤون الاجتماعية اللبنانية (2000 - 2004).
درّست مواد علم اجتماع التربية والعمل والثقافة وتحليل الخطاب في الجامعة اللبنانية (1999-2010)، وفي معهد العلوم السياسة في جامعة القديس يوسف – بيروت (2006 - 2012).
وهي عضو مُؤسِّس في تجمّع "باحثات"، وتشغل منصب نائب رئيس الجمعية اللبنانية لعلم الاجتماع.
Book Description
يهدف هذا البحث إلى دراسة صورة العرب والإسلام كما تبدو في الكتب المدرسية الفرنسية المتخصصة للمواد غير العلمية في القراءة والتاريخ والجغرافيا والتربية المدنية. وقد شملت هذه الدراسة السنوات الدراسية من أول المرحلة الابتدائية حتى السنوات النهائية. جرى البحث عن هذه الصورة في الأجزاء والفصول التي تمسّ العرب والإسلام بشكل مباشر أو غير مباشر. في مادة التاريخ تعلق الأمر بالحضارة الإسلامية والفتح العربي والحروب الصليبية والاستعمار وإزالة الاستعمار وحرب الجزائر، وأخيراً الصهيونية والمسألة الفلسطينية والحروب الإسرائيلية العربية.
وفي مادة القراءة تناول البحث مقتطفات من الأدب الفرنسي تتضمن شخصيات عربية أو بربرية أو تقع أحداثها في الوطن العربي، ومقتطفات في الأدب العربي أو البربري الناطق بالفرنسية، وكذلك الأدب العربي المترجم إلى الفرنسية مما أوصت البرامج الصادرة عن الوزارة بتضمينها في كتب القراءة.
وفي مادة الجغرافيا والتربية المدنية تناول البحث المواضيع التي تتعلق بالعمال المهاجرين والأجانب في فرنسا، وكذلك بالمنطقة الصحراوية ومواردها. وتناولت أيضاً هذه الدراسة المواضيع العربية والإسلامية التي وردت بشكل جانبي في مضمون لم يكن الوطن العربي موضوعها الأساسي.
