Book Description
الأخرس شاعر موهوب مكثر، خصب القريحة، طويل النفس، لم يكن يجمع شعره في حياته، ولا يحتفظ بقصائده بعد إنشادها، أو إرسالها إلى الممدوحين. عاش الأخرس حياة "رتيبة" مملة، فلم نكن له حرفة يكتسب منها أسباب عيشه، كما لم ينل وظيفة؛ لذلك كان يقضي أغلب وقته في المقاهي والدواوين (المجالس) التي سطعت شاعريته في أجوائها ومنتدياتها. لقب السيد عبد الغفار بلقب الأخرس نظراً لما كان يشكو منه من احتباس في لسانه وهذا ما منعه من إنشاد شعره ودفعه إلى كتابته بخط يده الذي أثار إعجاب من عاصره من الأعلام.
امتاز شعره بإشراقة الديباجة، وحسن التركيب، وجمال التعبير والتصوير، وجزالة اللفظ ورقته معاً؛ وجرس ألفاظه يتسق وموسيقى أوزانه، بلغة واضحة مؤثرة، تطرب لها الآذان، وتتعشقها القلوب بسهولة، مال الأخرس في شعره إلى المحسنات البديعية كالطباق والجناس والتورية، وكتب في أغراض شتى كالمدح والرثاء والتهاني والغزل والوصف والمداعبات فتجمع لديه العديد من القصائد جمعها "وليد الأعظمي" في كتابه هذا الذي نقلب صفحاته والذي أثبت فيه كافة الفروق الواردة في النسخ الأربعة التي اعتمد عليها، جاعلاً من نسخة "الطراز الأنفس في شعر الأخرس" لأحمد باشا الفاروقي أساساً في التحقيق، هذا وقد عني المحقق بشرح ما غمض من ألفاظ الديوان، والتعريف بالأعلام الذي وجه الشاعر قصائده إليهم والذين وردت أسماؤهم في الديوان؛ كما أشار إلى بحر كل قصيدة، معيداً أيضاً ترتيب الديوان، جاعلاً ترتيبه يتنقل بين القوافي والأغراض والأوزان.
