لقد هالني ما قرأت وما رأيت في كتاب "قبيلة المساعيد" من مغالطات تاريخية وتدليس وتلبيس على القارئ وتجنّي على بعض العلماء والمؤرخين، متجاوزاً بذلك الحقائق والنصوص الموثقة والقديمة.
وقد قرأت الكتاب أكثر من مرة لعلي أجد نصاً واحداً يدعم وجهة نظر المؤلّف، إلا أنني، مع الأسف، وجدته يجزم بأمور عدة وينتقي نصوصاً مقصودة ويقطع بصحة بعضها، وكأن لديه نسخاً من مخطوطات لم يطّلع عليها أحد غيره، مع العلم أن مصادره جميعها معروفة، ولا يقطع أي منها بما ذهب إليه؛ لذا، فإن ما بُني على خطأ فهو الخطأ بعينه.
ونظراً لأن ما خلص إليه المؤلف لا يمتّ إلى الحقيقة بصلة، فقد قمت بالرد على أهم ما ورد فيه من ملاحظات ومغالطات وأوهام، مستعيناً بالله تعالى، ثم بالمصادر والمراجع القديمة والحديثة التي تبيّن الخطأ وتوضّح النسب الصحيح من وجهة نظر العلماء المعروفين.
