الأدب العربي؛ ضمّ بين طياته من مكنون علم، وخزين معرفة ما يمثل مصدراً مهماً من المصادر العربية، فلا بد للأمة التي يحمل تاريخها تلك العلوم أن يسعى أبناؤها لإحيائه، وبث الروح فيه من جديد لتكوّن مناراً وعبرةً للأجيال، ومن بين تلك الكنوز العظيمة ما خلّفهُ الشعراء من دواوين، حملت بين طياتها معالم العصر الذي عاشوا فيها، وكنت توّاقاً لدراسة أحد الشعراء العباسيين؟، لما يمثلهُ هذا العصر من تقدم ورقي على المستويات كافة، ولا سيما الشعر، فبدأت أتصفح الكتب وأتردد على أساتذتي لعلي أجد ضالتي ومبتغاي.
مستنيراً بآرائهم ومقترحاتهم العلمية، التي أفادتني كثيراً في إختيار الموضوع، حتى استقر الرأي على دراسة (شعر الباخرزي دراسة فنية) الذي إقترحهُ عليّ مشكوراً أستاذي الدكتور رمضان صالح عباد وافق الإشراف عليه.
