يعرض هذا الكتاب وقائع "ندوة أنسنة الدين" في ملتقى الدكتور توفيق بحمد الثقافي وقد شارك فيها المحاضرون الأجلاء: سماحة الفتى الشيخ خليل الميس، وسيادة المطران إلياس كفوري، وسماحة السيد جعفر حسين فضل الله، وفضيلة الشيخ سامي أبي المنّى.
افتتح الحفل بكلمة للمؤلف الدكتور توفيق بحمد تحت خلالها عن أهداف الملتقى الثقافي وهي محور إنسانية الإنسان إلى الأبد، فتساءل "في زمن هذا حاله... جئنا بهذا النداء أنسنة الدين فينا أين؟؟...
أما المفتي خليل الميس فاعتبر "الإنسان هو الحل وهو المشكلة، إنه الإنسان الذي استقى... الذي منه الأنبياء وإليه أرسل الأنبياء..." أما سيادة المطران إلياس كفوري فقال: "الرسالات السماوية أتت من أجل الإنسان لذلك السيد المسيح سمي نفسه ابن الإنسان، ليس هناك دين كيان خارج الإنسان، إنما الدين هو صلة وصل بين الإنسان وخالقه".
بينما تساءل الدكتور السيد جعفر فضل الله "هل أن الدين في حاجة إلى أنسنة؟ ألم يأت الدين من أجل الإنسان؟ وأليست كل تعاليمه وتوجيهاته وأوامره ونواهيه تصب في هذا المشروع؟" وقال فضيلة الشيخ سامي أبي المنى أن "أنسنة الدين عنوان يربط الدين بالإنسان، وهل يصحُ دينٌ إذا لم يُؤنسن؟ والدين أساساً، جاء لخدمة الإنسان...".
إلى ذلك، يتضمن هذا الكتاب محاضرات للمؤلف في مدرسة سقراط التوحيدية، والحق والقانون في محاكمة سقراط (محاورة)، وموضوع ندوة حول الأبعاد الوطنية والعالمية في فكر السيد فضل الله، ومرتكزات مشروع الأنسنة في فكر السيد فضل الله، وأنسنة الإنسان، في فكر المعلم كمال جنبلاط، وأنسنة المحبة في المسيحية للإنسان في فكر المعلم كمال جنبلاط.... وموضوعات أخرى ذات صلة.
