لا نعرف لأبي الصفاء الطرابُلُسيّ كتاباً غير الكتاب الذي بين أيدينا، "نهاية الغاية في بعض أسماء رجال القراءات أولي الرواية" وهو مختصر لكتاب "غاية النهاية في طبقات القرّاء" لشمس الدين أبي الخير، محمد بن محمد بن الجَزَري.
والجدير ذِكرُه، أن المؤلف لم يكن مجرَّد مختصر فحسب، بل هو قارئ وناقل مدقق، ومصحّح وشارح، فتراه يعرّف ببعض الأعلام ممّن ذكرهم شيخه بألقابهم، وذلك في حواشي الكتاب، وفي المتن، ويذكر أسماء الأعلام والنسبة على الصحيح.
وأهمية هذا الكتاب، اعتنى بتحقيقه ودراسته الدكتور عمر تدمري إتماماً للفائدة.
