تبحث هذه الدراسة القومية السورية، كما تجسدت في فكر أنطون سعادة، وتتابع عن كثب المسار الذي اتبعه أنطون سعادة في بذل جهوده لجعل القومية السورية حقيقة سياسية، ودافعاً إجتماعياً ملموساً.
ضمن هذا الهدف العريض، للدراسة هدفان متداخلان، الأول، هو تحليل العقيدة السورية القومية الإجتماعية التي وضعها سعادة، بين عامي 1933- 1949، بالمقارنة مع الإطار السياسي والتاريخي لتلك الفترة، والثاني هو بحث العوامل التي ميزت سعادة عن المفكرين السياسين والقوميين، الذين عاصروه في سورية والخارج، والعوامل التي توحد بينه وبينهم.
نأمل أن يساعد العرض التفصيلي للعقيدة السورية القومية الإجتماعية على دحض الخرافات والأفكار الثابتة التي لفقت عن سعادة، مثلاً، هل صحيح أن سعادة كان معادياً للعروبة ومعادياً للدين كما زعم البعض؟... وهل صحيح أيضاً، أنه كان ضد لبنان، وأنه في سعيه لتدمير الدولة اللبنانية، تعاون مع الصهيونية؟... وأيضاً وأيضاً، أصحيح أن سعادة اقتبس أفكاره من الفاشية والنازية الأوروبية، أو أنه ينتمي إلى المدرسة الفكرية التي تعتبر الدكتاتورية أفضل أشكال الدولة؟.
