انطلاقاً من هذا التعريف يضم كتابه "فصول من النقد السيميائي والثقافي للإشهار" يعرض خلاله لمختلف وجهات النظر والإتجاهات والمذاهب التي تناولته، مبيّناً كيف تنازعت بحوث السيميولوجيا والنقد الثقافي أمر الإشهار بينها؛ فثمة إتجاهات تحتفي بالخطاب الإشهاري وتعتبره إنجازاً فريداً وحداثياً يعكس حضرة جديدة تغترف من الصورة المعنى في لانهائيته، واتجاهات أخرى تزردي هذا الخطاب وتقول أنه ليس إلا متاهة يضيع فيها المعنى ليؤول في الختام إلى شيء مضاد له .. إلى العبث كفاجعة وكإخفاقٍ للتداول .. وفي الحدود التي تفصل المعنى والعبث، يقع مفهوم الـ "شارابيا، الذي سيسلط عليه المؤلف الضوء في هذا الكتاب والذي سيقدمه في إطار النقد السيميولوجي والثقافي للخطاب الإشهاري بما يحيل إليه من حالة ارتباك وغموض داخل النص من حيث بنيته ووظائفه التعبيرية ...
