عمدة الأحكام في معالم الحلال والحرام" كتاب حوى مادة علمية وفيرة من أحاديث الأحكام من كلام خير الأنام محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم، وهو من أهم المصنفات في بابه، لأن الإمام أبا محمد عبد الغني بن عبد الواحد المقدسي جمعه من أغلى أنواع الصحيح مما اتفقت عليه إماماً أهل الصنعة: البخاري ومسلم؟ فأتى سهلاً قريباً يتناوله المبتدئ بيسر، ولكن لا يستغني عنه المنتهي.
ولقد صار هذا الكتاب مرجعاً لا يستغني عنه أهل العلم وطلابه؛ ولذلك كثر اعتناؤهم به، فمنهم من شرحه ومنهم من فسر غربية وحقق مادته، و"أبو أسامة سليم بن عبد الهلالي السلفي" هو واحد من هؤلاء وقد تجلت خدمته للكتاب في اعتناءه بتحقيق مادته، وتوثيق نصوصه، وتخريج أحاديثه، وعزوها إلى مواضعها في الصحيحين كما اعتنى بإتحاف حواشي الكتاب بتعليقات أهل العلم الذين اعتنوا بالعمدة.
هذا إلى جانب تقديمه للكتاب بمقدمة تحدث فيها عن المصنف وبختمه بفهارس حديثيه علمية تعين طالب العلم إلى الوصول إلى بغيته.
