يكتب "راجي بطحيش" قصصه بكثافة شديدة، يصل بمشرطه إلى أغوار المناطق النفسية المتأزمة لشخصياته مهملاً تفاصيلها الخارجية، يأخذنا والأصح يحاول أن يأخذنا، إلى غير المرئي من حياتنا، إلى تلك المناطق التي نحاول تجاهلها، خصوصاً ذلك الجانب البشع، والقبيح من النفس البشرية، وما يؤثر في صياغتها!
تنتهي قصصه بمفاجآت تبدو عادية ولكنها تصدم القارئ، توقفه وترغمه على التأمل، فصاحب الفيات مثلاً، الذي وصلته رسالة تدعو للتحقيق، يقلق لليلتين، وعندما يذهب إلى مركز الشرطة، يجد العشرات من أصحاب (الفيات) مثله في مركز الشرطة،وبعد دقائق من وصوله يتم أخذ رقم محرك سيارته ويطلق سراحه، وتكون النهاية أن "حواف الطريق مكللة بالبراءة" فمخاوف صاحب الفيات وقلقه من التحقيق تتبدد بسرعة، لأن البحث لم يكن عن جرائم ارتكابها هو بالذات بل عن رقم محرك سيارته. لقد ذهب التحقيق إلى ما هو تافه وسطحي وترك الجوهر، وهي تلك الجرائم التي كان قد ارتكبها (صاحب الفيات)! تأتي قصص راجي عاصفة وسريعة وجلى بالمفاجآت الصغيرة، ولكنها حاسمة، كأنها غارة من المشاعر الحارة، والصور التي تستمد عنفها من صمتها المتوتر.
