إن الشيخ الدكتور "محمد سعيد رمضان البوطي"، هو من أبرز العلماء الدعاة في سوريا مطلع هذا القرن، وصاحب مسيرة حافلة من العلم والعمل، وهو وإن كان ينتمي إلى التيار الفقهي التقليدي، وينفُرُ من الإسلام الحَرَكي ومن إفرازاته السياسيّة والتنظيمية والفكرية، لكنه تمكّن من مجاراة نفوذه ومضاهاته، من خلال خطابه الدعوي المتنوّع والذي يغطّي كافة الشؤون الفردية والعامة.
كما استفاد إستخدامه المنظّم لوسائل الإتصال الحديث للتواصل مع الجمهور، وقد نشأت علاقة تفاعل إيجابي بينه وبين النظام السياسي سمحت بالإستفادة من إمكانيات الدولة بالوعظ والإرشاد ونشر العلم.
يهدف هذا الكتاب إلى إستعراض جُلِّ آراء البوطي في مسائل العصر وهمومه، وما أثارته من نقاشات فكرية حادة، فإنه يتوخى الموضوعية في الوصف والسرد، سواء بالنسبة لآرائه أو مواقف معارضيه، وهو ينقسم إلى مقدمة وخمسة فصول: في الفصل الأول، سردٌ مقتضب لمحطات أساسيّة في سيرة الشيخ البوطي.
وفي الفصل الثاني، وصفٌ مكثّف للبيئة الخاصة والعامة التي نشأ فيها البوطي، وما اكتنفها من أسباب وعوامل، أسهمت في البناء العلمي والفكري لشخصيّة البوطي، وفي رسم الإتجاهات إزاء الواقع وإرغاماته، وفي الفصل الثالث، رصدٌ لأبرز آراء البوطي في الإسلام السياسي والحَرَكي والجهادي، وفي التيار السلفي ومقولاته وإجتهاداته، وفي مسائل حيوية، كقضية فلسطين والعمليات الإستشهادية، والصلح والتطبيع مع إسرائيل، وحقوق المرأة والقومية.
وفي الفصل الرابع، إقتباسٌ لنماذج معبّرة من الردود العلمية المتنوّعة الإتجاه، على مؤلّفاته ومحاضراته، بحيث يفضي هذا النقاش إلى تظهير أوضح لآراء البوطي في سياقاتها التفاعلية مع الآراء الأخرى، وفي الفصل الخامس، "بيبلوغرافيا" البحث، من حيث إيراد لائحة مؤلّفات البوطي مع نبذة مختصرة عنها، وذكر أبرز الدراسات والمؤلّفات عنه.
