منذ انهيار الاتحاد السوفييتي والإدارة الأمريكية تسعى للهيمنة على العالم كله. بدا ذلك واضحاً في طريقة إدارتها للأزمات التي انتشرت في البلقان، ثم في الصومال، ثم في حرب الخليج الثانية، وكذلك خلال الصراع العربي الإسرائيلي.
ومن هنا استغلت الولايات المتحدة أحداث الحادي عشر من أيلوب وتداعياتها للتوجه لمنطقة الشرق الأوسط بجيوشها وأساطيلها، ونشرت قواعدها العسكرية لخوض الحروب الاستباقية في أفغانستان والعراق تحت ذرائع زائفة (امتلاك أسلحة الدمار الشامل، إيواء الإرهاب) من أجل وضع يدها على النفط والمنطقة، فطرحت مشروع الشرق الأوسط الكبير، الذي حمل مبادئ نشر الحريات والديمقراطية وحقوق الإنسان والإصلاح الاقتصادي والسياسي لدول تلك المنطقة التي تعاني من انتشار الفساد، والاستبداد السياسي، والفقر والبطالة، وتدهور التعليم، وانتشار الجريمة والإرهاب والتطرف والهجرة.
هل كانت الوسائل المتبعة لتنفيذ هذه الأهداف مشروعة؟ وما سيكون خيار شعوب تلك المنطقة؟ أم هناك أبعاد سياسية واقتصادية مخفية وراء تلك المبادئ يراد منها الهيمنة العسكرية ونشر الفوضى وعقد الأحلاف السياسية؟ ثم من المستفيد من هذا المشروع وكيف وظف، وما الأبعاد الاستراتيجية له؟ أسئلة كثيرة مطروحة حول هذا المشروع، والمؤلف يقدم رأيه فيها بقراءة نفسية تحليلية وسياسية استراتيجية.
ما حدود الشرق الأوسط؟ أين يبدأ وأين ينتهي؟

أم إن وراء الأكمة ما وراءها، فهناك أطماع سياسية وعسكرية واقتصادية مخبأة خلف هذا المشروع!
