جاءت مباحث هذا الكتاب والمتعلقة ببنية اللغة العربية في دراسات التيار في فصلين: كان عنوان الأول: تطور النظرة الاستشراقية، بحث فيه بدايات النظر للفكر الشرقي منذ أفلاطون وأرسطو، وكيفية الفصل بين العقليتين الهندو-أوربية والعربية الشرقية عموماً، وتناول الخطاب الاستشراقي وكيفية تكريسه للعرقية والأفضلية (أي أفضلية العقل الآري على العقل غير الآري)، وعرج على موقف هؤلاء من الرسول محمد (صلى الله عليه وسلك) والقرآن الكريم، ومن بنية اللغة العربية، ومدى تأثير هذا الخطاب في الدارسين العرب، وذكر مجموعة صغيرة منهم (أي من الباحثين العرب) على سبيل المثال لا الحصر.
أما الفصل الثاني، فقد تناول أسطورة تقسيم اللغات والخطأ الفادح الذي ارتكبه المستشرقون في ذلك، وكذلك تناول كيف تؤثر اللغة على العقل المنتج لها والعكس، وكيف أفاد أصحاب التيار المعادي من هذه الفكرة (الأثر المتبادل بين العقل واللغة) للانتقاص من الشعوب ومحاولة طمس هويتها الثقافية، وفيما بعد عرج على بنية اللغة العربية موضوع الحديث ودرس الدلالات الخاطئة التي حاول أصحاب هذا التيار استخراجها.
وقبل هذين الفصلين تم إثبات تمهيد تضمن تبذة تاريخية عن اهتمام الشعوب بلغتها، وما حاولته هذه الشعوب تجاه لغتها، في الحفاظ عليها.
