هذه رسالة لطيفة، وفتوى منيفة، وشذرة جامعة، قي حكم شارب الخمر في الرابعة، حرره المؤلف بإعتناء، من قول الفقهاء؛ فذكر أحاديث قتل شارب الخمر في الرابعة وصحّتها، ثم أخبار الناسخين وعلّتها، وصوّب صحيحها وبيّن سقيمها؛ ثم ذكر قول أئمة مصطلح الأثر وأصوله، في مردود هذه الآثار ومقبولها، وفيما شرطوه من الإعتضاد، حتى يصبح به التضاد، ثم أردفه بحجج المفتين، وبراهين المستدلين، المجيزين والمانعين، المثبتين والنافين، وأجوبة المتعقبين، ثم أحال الخلاف بذيوله، على علماء الفقه وأصوله، ثم كللّه في الختام، بفتوى شيخ الإسلام، ووسمه بـ"إعلام أهل العصر، بحكم قتل مدمن الخمر".
