أثناء إنجاز أعمال إنشائية في وادي موسى لطريق مؤدية إلى البتراء، يتم إكتشاف قطعة صخر من جرانيت البزانايت عليها نقش عجيب بحروف عبرية وسط الركام والأنقاض، وكان من وجدها جابر، وهو فتى من "البدول"، أحفاد الأنباط الأصليون عمره 12 عاماً.
فتؤدي هذه اللقية إلى رحلة إستكشاف وإلى مغامرة تكمل وتسهب في نطاق القصة الواردة في الإنجيل والقرآن الكريم عن خروج اليهود مع موسى من مصر.
وتفيد تلك القصة بأن اليهود قضو 40 عاماً في الصحراء ولكنهم، وخلال بحثهم عن مصادر للمياه، نزحوا إلى الوادي الذي سُمِّي فيما بعد باسم نبيهم موسى عليه السلام واستقروا فيه.
يأخذنا هذا الوادي إلى آثار وأطلال شعب الأنباط بمنطقة البتراء الواقعة في المملكة الأردنية الهاشمية المعروفة لنا اليوم.
كما تفيد القصة بأن الديانة المسيحية بدأت فعلياً في الأردن حيث تم تعميد المسيح عندما كان عمره 30 عاماً على الضفة الشرقية لنهر الأردن ثم بدأ في التبشير بالدين الجديد، ما يجعل من الأردن مهد المسيحية الفعلي، أي أن الأردن هي أيضاً أرض مقدسة لهذه الديانة.
ومن ثم تصبح هذه الصخرة قطعة أثرية قيّمة تسعى للحصول عليها عدة منظمات وجهات حكومية، ومن بين الساعين وراء الصخرة عناصر إجرامية تنتمي إلى عصابات يرون في هذه الصخرة كنزاً حقيقياً.
ولكن الفتى العنيد، جابر، يتحدى مطارديه ويتملص من قبضتهم ثم يصل بهذه المطاردة إلى نهاية مفاجئة مستعيناً بغرائزه الطفولية كي لا يقع في أيدي مطارديه.
