يعني الفقه الأكبر للإمام أبي حنيفة النعمان رضي الله عنه قوله: أصل التوحيد وما يَصُّح الإعتقاد عليه يجب أن يقول: "آمنتُ بالله، وملائكته، وكتبه، ورسله، والبعث بعد الموت، والقدر خيره وشره من الله تعالى، والحساب، والميزان، والجنة، والنار، وذلك حق كله...".
وكتاب "متن الفقه الأكبر" هو شرح لرسالة الإمام أبي حنيفة النعمان رضي الله عنه (ولد سنة 80 - وتوفي سنة 150هـ) اعتنى بتحقيقها الدكتور جميل حليم الهاشمي... المدني / رئيس جمعية المشايخ الصوفية في بيروت وذلك بالإستناد إلى نسخة مخطوطة كاملة من مكتبة المحقق تشتمل على عدد من الرسائل الخطية وهذه "النسخة مقابلة على عشر مخطوطات وفيها تعليقات وفوائد مهمة لا يستغني القارئ عنها".
ومن بينها كما يورد المحقق "سند في الفقه الأكبر والعقيدة الطحاوية... ومنه إلى أبي حنيفة في متن الفقه الأكبر" وقد رواها عن الشيخ الهرري رضي الله عنه وبالسماع إلى أسانيد مختلفة متعددة بدءاً بــ "مفتي الحبشة الشيخ محمد سراج الجبرتي" وإنتهاءً بـ "أبي يوسف يعقوب بن إبراهيم الأنصاري، عن الإمام أبي حنيفة النعمان بن ثابت الكوفي رضي الله عنه وأرضاه".
