في هذا الكتاب يقدم الشيخ "ذو الفقار أحمد النقشبندي المجددي" الأدلة لثبوت علم التصوف شرعاً بالإستناد إلى القرآن الكريم.
ما يميز هذا العمل أنه يجمع بين دفتيه معارف وحقائق أخذت من كتب التصوف المعتبرة. والتي يمكن للإنسان المسلم أن يصل بقراءته إلى أعلى درجات الكمال الإيماني والخلقي، لأجل ذلك يشدد المؤلف على أن لا بد للسالك أن يتعلم التصوف من المشايخ الذين يطابق علمهم وعملهم وحالهم وقالهم بالكتاب والسنة مطابقة تامة، والإبتعاد عن هفوات المتصوفين الجاهلين...
يأتي الكتاب في ثلاثة عشرة باباً: جاء الباب الأول بعنوان (علم التصوف) ونقرأ فيه ثلاثة أدلة على ثبوت علم التصوف شرعاً، أما الباب الثاني فجاء بعنوان: (التصوف ما هو) وفيه أسئلة وأجوبة لعدد من علماء المسلمين حول معنى التصوف. ثم الباب الثالث وجاء بعنوان (تحقيق كلمة الصوفي) وفيه ذكر أسئلة مشهورة حول لفظ الصوفي مع أجوبتها، واحتوى الباب الرابع على (ملخص الكلام) وجاء الباب الخامس بعنوان (ضرورة المرشد) وفيه أدلة من القرآن ومن أحاديث النبي على أهمية التصوف، ونقرأ في الباب السادس أحسن ما قيل "في أداب الشيخ". ثم الباب السابع وفيه أدلة من القرآن على "إنشاء الزوايا"، ويسلط الباب الثامن الأضواء على (معتقدات المريدين) ويحتوي الباب التاسع على (دروس التصوف) وفيه ستة مباحث تتضمن نصوص من السلف مع أدلة من القرآن والحديث. وفي الباب العاشر (أعمال اليوم والليلة) وأما الباب الحادي عشر (في المعارف والحقائق) وفيه إحدى عشرة مبحثاً منها التوبة والعبادات والدعاء... وأهم ما في الباب الثاني عشر هو (الأخلاق الحميدة) ويضم ثمان مباحث في أخلاق المتصوفة الصالحين، ويأتي الباب الثالث عشر والأخير (أسئلة وأجوبة) حول التصوف.
