لم تستوعب ريناد ما قرأته وأعادت قراءة الرسالة مرتين وربما أكثر حتى تنهدت بضيق فهي لا تعرف شعورها تجاه حمد. تارة تشكر ربها لأن قرار الفراق جاء من قبله ولكنها تتمنى أن تبقى معه تارة أخرى، إنه كالتخبط في المشاعر المتلاطمة.
ولكن لا بد لها أن تنساه إلى الأبد ولتبتسم للأقدار وتقول له: وداعاً عزيزي.
كتبت الرد بأصابع مترجفة: أخي حمد لقد انتابني نفس الشعور فلقد أحسست بالذنب فقد بدا لي بأننا تجردنا من عاداتنا بمحادثتنا لبعضنا البعض وخروجنا معاً لوحدنا ولكن حدث كل شيء بلمح البصر، أكرر اعتذاري منك وأتمنى لك التوفيق.
غربة زمن نسجت هموماً ومشاكل مشتركة لأشخاص تجمعهم الغربة، ربما هي ليست غربة بلدان بل أكثر من ذلك.
إنها غربة في الزمن الهالك الذي أنهكته أسس وقوانين نسجها مجتمع وهمي بالنسبة للبعض، إن تلك الغربة محصورة بين قوسين "غربة زمن".
