الإيمان مفهوم واسع ذو أبعاد كبيرة وكثيرة فهو بشكل الجانب العملي من الإسلام، فإذا كان الإسلام هو النطق بالشهادتين فالإيمان هو التجسيد العملي لتلك الشهادتين الإسلام يمثل جانب الشعار والهوية، والإيمان يمثل جانب الحيوية والحركة في الحياة، عند ما يتجسد الإيمان في شخص الفرد فيحول بإيمانه الصادق تلك الحركة والحيوية إلى واقع يستثمره ويستفيد منه في الحياة الدنيا وإلى جزاء أخروي يحصل من خلاله على الجنة التي عرضها السماوات والأرض نتيجة استثمار لذلك الواقع الإيماني الذي جسده في شخصيته.
فليس الإيمان مجرد التزامات معينة وتطبيق لبعض أحكام الشريعة من الحلال والحرام، وعبادات يؤديها الفرد المكلف في حياته، والإيمان أوسع مفهوماً من ذلك فهو يحمل أبعادا كبيرة ورؤى وبصائر يلتزمها الإنسان فتدله على تلك البنود والالتزامات والقوانين الواردة في الشريعة فيحولها غلى عمل ونشاط في واقعة وحياته، ومتى ما تحولت تلك الرؤى والبصائر إلى حقائق عملية وإلى واقع حي فإن المؤمن سيتحول هو إلى طاقة إيمانية متكاملة إنتاجية حيث ينبعث منه النور ليشع على الحياة بالخير والصلاح ويحول دون الفساد والانحراف.
وهذا المفهوم من الإيمان هو إيمان المسؤولية والتعهد وإيمان الالتزام والأخلاق وإيمان التفكير والقدرة على استثمار العقل في حقل الحياة، وهذا المفهوم هو الذي يتطرق إليه هذا الكتاب وذلك من خلال اثني عشر فصلاً تحدث أولها عن شخصية الإنسان بما ميزه الله على سائر المخلوقات، وأكد على أن هذه الشخصية لا تتكامل إلا بالعقل والدين، وهذا الفصل كان مدخلاً للحديث عن البرنامج الإيماني الذي به يكمل عقل الإنسان وتتكامل شخصيته فكان الحديث في الفصول التي تلت هذا الفصل مكملة للفصل الأول فتم التطرق غلى إيمان شروط الإيمان معطيات الإيمان من هو المؤمن؟ العلاقة بين الإيمان والأخلاق، الإيمان تفكر، الإيمان التزام، الإيمان أخوة، الإيمان وحدة...
