بدأت أداعبها، هذا الجسد الخالي من أية بهرجة، هذا الجسد البكر، الحيواني، كان وليمة لي، ولما كنت لأحس أمام أطيب المآكل بجوع أشد من جوعي الآن. كان فيه عاج العنب، ومخمل الخوخ، ونعومة العسل، ولدانة وبرغلة معجون اللوز، وفيه شدة حبة الزيتون ولب الخبز الأسمر، ونسغ اللحم المشوي وقلب قرص التين، وذهب القطايف وعنبر النبيذ المعتق، هذا الجسد كان المن الذي وضعه الخالق في متناول يد البشر كمقدمة لمذاق جنة عدن.
كانت البشرة التي نضجت تحت الشمس قد تفتحت ألوانها وعطورها. فكنت أتنشق رائحة القرفة والفلفل والزنجبيل، وأتذوق بالعينين الطلاء الأسود التي كانت تبدو مغلفة به، وأوانها، ألوان المغرة والسماق، وبنفسجها الخشخاشي وكثباتها الرملي الأسود الذي يبرق فيه فسيفساء من البلوريات الصغيرة. كانت هذه البشرة تنشر الدفء، مع أنها كانت باردة وكانت أصابعي تنزلق بلا صعوبة على طلائها.
