الهروب من عادات وتقاليد المجتمع، وتحقيق الرغبة، والبحث عن الحب، وملء الفراغ العاطفي والروحي هي الثيمات التي تتمحور حولها رواية "أسماء للنسيان" للكاتب عمر قدور، حيث يقوم برصد حياة مجموعة من الفتيات والشباب في المدارس والجامعات يعيشون من دون أية مسؤولية تجاه الأهل أو المجتمع لا تشغلهم سوى متعة الحياة. لنقع في الرواية على فتيات في سن الزواج، لا يبحثن عن الزوج قدر ما يبحثن عن مغامرة وحبيب عابر، وشباب لا عمل واضح لهم ولا يؤرقهم العمل، يعيشون بين الغرف المستأجرة والمقاهي والحانات، يجتمعون فيسترجعون أحداثاً لا قيمة لها، لا يشغلهم سوى الثرثرة والحديث عن النساء.
هي حياة مشتهاة أكثر منها حقيقية، تنطق بها الشخصيات وتفصح عن نفسها، لتتخفف من أثقالها ولكل شخصية دورها في الحكاية وفي مسار الأحداث، وهي تعبير عن بنية إجتماعية مفككة، والتفكك هنا ليس قيمة سلبية، بل هو كشف للجانب الآخر من الحياة المستور والمخفي في حيوات الكثيرين من جيل الشباب، وانعدام القيم الإنسانية التي على أساسها تُبنى المجتمعات (الصداقة - الحب - الأمومة - المسؤولية) ساقها الروائي في سرد جذاب وقدرة على إخراج الحكاية في خطاب مناسب، وأبدى كفاءة عالية في نسج البنية الروائية المناسبة للعالم المرجعي الذي تحيل إليه. فجاءت الرواية إسماً على مسمى والأجمل فيها المسمى لا الأسماء فكانت "أسماء للنسيان".
