إن الباحث في مجال الاقتصاد الإسلامي ليجد بعض العنت عندما يلجأ إلى كتب السنّة النبوية ليستخرج منها أدلته، أو ليستهدي بها في تعزيز نظريته. ذلك أن ترتيب معظم كتب النصوص الحديثة قائم على أبواب الفقه حيث تتناثر القضايا الاقتصادية فيها دون معيار واحد. فتارة تتجمع كما في الزكاة والبيوع، وتارة أخرى تتفرق كما في العمل والأجور. من هنا نبعث فكرة هذا العمل الذي بين أيدينا، حيث وقع اختيار الباحث "محيي الدين عطية" كتاب من كتب السنة جمع أربعة عشر كتاباً في سفر واحد، ذلك هو كتاب: جمع الفوائد من جامع الأصول ومجمع الزوائد للإمام محمد بن محمد بن سليمان الفاسي المغربي (1094هـ). لقد احتوى هذا السفر على 10130 حديثاً تضعها الكتب الآتية "صحيح البخاري، صحيح مسلم، سنن النسائي، سنن أبي داوود، سنن الترمذي، سنن ابن ماجه، موطأ مالك، مسند أحمد بن حنبل، مسند الدرامي، مسند الدارمي، مسند أبي يعلي الموصلي، مسند أبي بكر البزار، معاجم الطبراني الثلاثة، الكبر والأوسط والصغير.
ولقد جمع المؤلف بين كتاب جامع الأصول لابن الأثير (606هـ) الذي ضم الكتب الستة، وبين كتاب مجمع الزوائد للهيثمي الذي جمع فيه ما في مسند أحمد وأبي يعلي الموصلي والبزار ومعاجم الطبراني من الأحاديث الزائدة على ما في الأصول الستة. ولقد قام الباحث في هذا الكشاف الاقتصادي باختيار الأحاديث-أو أجزاء الأحاديث التي لها صلة بالقضايا الاقتصادية والتجارية بمفهومها الواسع، ورتبها تحت رؤوس موضوعات-أصلية وفرعية-ترتيباً ألفبائياً ليسهل على الباحث الوصول إلى مراده بسهولة. كما أثبت كل حديث أرقاماً من 1 إلى 14 تدل على كتب السنة التي روته، ابتداء من صحيح البخاري حتى المعجم الصغير للطبراني لمن أراد الرجوع إليها، ووضع رقم الحديث كما ورد في كتاب جمع الفوائد بين قوسين لمن أراد الاكتفاء بالرجوع إليه دون المصادر الرئيسية.
