قد يظن البعض أن البطولة أمر مقصور على حمل السلاح وامتشاق الحسام، أو الإقدام على الطعان والنزال في ميدان القتال. ولكن البطولة أوسع من ذلك مدى، وأفسح رحاباً فقد تكون إقبالاً على معركة، أو ثباتاً في ميدان، أو صبراً على أذى، أو تعففاً عن قذى، أو تصرفاً قويماً يصد باطلاً، أو يجلب نصراً، أو شجاعة أدبية في تأييد خير أو مقاومة منكر أو صدع بكلمة صدق في موطن تعز فيه كلمة الصدق وها هو ذا رسول الإسلام محمد عليه الصلاة والسلام يخبرنا عن لوم كريم من ألوان البطولة والكفاح، لا عدة فيه ولا سلاح غير الإيمان واليقينـ وهو الجهر بكلمة الحق في موطن الخوف من الجهر بها والثبات عليها: فيقول: "أفضل الجهاد كلمة حق عند إمام جائر".
