في رواية من يرث الفردوس، ثمة حصن أثري مهجور ينطوي على أسرار ومفاجآت يلاحقها عاشقان ويكشفان غموض الأحداث والأسرار الخفيّة، فقد تشكّل في الحصن النائي منذ ثلاثين عاماً مجتمع عشوائي قوامه نساء ورجال فرّوا من مدنهم لأسباب تتعلّق بالضغوط الإجتماعية والسياسية والدينية للبحث عن حريتهم في العيش والعشق والفكر والفن ويقيم العشاق والشعراء الهاربون ما حسبوه فردوساً يوتوبياً يعتمد إقتصاداً بدائياً وأسلوب عيش متَّسم بالزهد ويجري تقسيم العمل فيه حسب التكوين البيولوجي للأفراد، من دون الإعتداد بالأبعاد الثقافية التي اكتسبتها الإنسانية عبر العصور ممّا أنتج مجتمعاً تغلي فيه الصراعات الثقافية المختزنة في الذاكرة، تحت سكونه الخادع وأسراره، ويتوهّم القائمون على إدارة الحصن أنّهم حقّقوا العدالة وهي في الحق عدالة زائفة مسخت الفرد وحوّلته إلى نبرة واهنة في النشيد الجمعي وأهملت أشواق الروح وصادرت خصوصية الحب وسخّرت الفن تسخيراً ذرائعياً فظّاً، لتتفجَّر التناقضات التي حملها الرجال والنساء من مجتمعاتهم السابقة عندما يتسلَّل نظام السوق ويخترق منظومة الحصن فترجي أحداث متلاحقة وتتكشَّف الأسرار والألغاز التي يُصدم الكثيرون لدى إفتضاحها.
