يتناول هذا الكتاب الأحكام القانونية الناظمة لقانون النقل: البحري وكذلك الجوي.
وفي لبنان عقد النقل البحري للبضائع تحكمه فئتان من القواعد القانونية الأولى قواعد هامبورغ التي تحكم النقل البحري الدولي الذي يتضمن عنصراً أجنبياً، والثانية قواعد قانون التجارية البحرية اللبناني والذي يقتصر نطاق تطبيقها على النقل البحري الوطني الذي يتم بين الموانىء اللبنانية.
وأما النقل الجوي فيستقي تشريعه من إتفاقية وارسو المبرمة عام 1929م والبروتوكولات والإتفاقيات المعدّلة والمكملة لها. وموضوع الكتاب هو النقل بالمفهوم القانوني لعقد النقل البحري وكذلك الجوي، وأنواعهما وتنظيمهما على المستوى الدولي وعلى المستوى الداخلي الذي تنتظم فيه التشريعات الوطنية.
يقسم الكتاب إلى قسمين: الأول النقل البحري وفيه أربعة فصول: الفصل الأول: تكوين عقد النقل البحري ولإثباته، الفصل الثاني: إلتزامات الشاحن والناقل. الفصل الثالث: مسؤولية الناقل البحري، والفصل الرابع: البيوع البحرية.
وأما القسم الثاني: النقل الجوي، ويضم ثلاثة فصول: الفصل الأول: في أنواع النقل الجوي، الفصل الثاني: في عقد النقل الجوي، والفصل الثالث: في مسؤولية الناقل الجوي.
