وهذا كله لم يأت من فراغ، فقد كان لشعب دولة ألإمارات العربية تاريخاً مجيداً تشاركزا فيه أحياناً مع دول الجوار، وبقي ذلك التاريخ عامضاً لدى كثير من القراء، ما دفع الباحث إلى وضع هذه الدراسة الجامعية بعنوان "الإمارات العربية المتحدة في استراتيجيات الدول الكبرى من 1820-1971". تناول فيها بالدراسة والتمحيص تاريخ دولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة من يوم ما لفتت تلك المنطقة الدول الكبرى إلى أهميتها، فحاولت استعمارها، والسيطرة عليها إلى يوم تأسيسها وإعلانها دولة مستقلة متحدة، ما جعلنا نصدر الدراسة بهذا العنوان.
والدراسة كغيرها من الدراسات الجامعية لا تغفل شاردة ولا واردة في تاريخ دولة الإمارات إلا تناولتها بالبحث والتدقيق استناداً إلى مراجع مختلفة يعضد بعضهاً بعضاً.
وقد أجيزت هذه الدراسة بتقدير ممتاز من "معهد التاريخ العربي والتوثيق العلمي للدراسات العليا"، فعسى أن تكشف للقارئ العربي، بعد صدورها في هذا الكتاب، فترة مهمة من تاريخ هذه الدولة الفتية التي تحتل مكانة مرموقة بين دول العالم أجمع.
