يعد إدمون عمران المليح كاتب إستثنائي في حقل الثقافة المغربية، بل إنه يمثل "معلمة" في المغرب الحديث والمعاصر. ومرد ذلك إلى "هويته المركبة" التي تنقسم على الوعي المتضمن في كتاباته، والثوابت التي تصل ما بين السرد والرسم والفن التشكيلي ومدرسة فرانكفورت والفلسفة الحديثة ومسألة فلسطين واليهودية المعاصرة. وفي هذا الكتاب يضيء الكاتب يحيى بن الوليد جانباً مهماً من إشكال "الكتابة" عند عمران المليح عبر ثلاثة فصول: هي:
الفصل الأول: "الكتابة ومواجهة الهويات القاتلة"، وقد خصص لأدمون عمران المليح وكل ذلك من خلال الاتكاء على "مفهوم" الكتابة التي فرضت على الكاتب مقاربة مخصوصة تسعى إلى معالجة "الثوابت" لا "المتغيرات".
الفصل الثاني: "الكتابة الأليغورية"، ودرس فيها الكاتب قراءة ماري سيسيل ديغور –زوجة المليح- لـ "فكر فالتر بنيامين" ومن خلال ما يعبر عنه بـ "فجر البدايات وخيبة الفلسفة الأوربية".
وأما الفصل الثالث (والأخير): الأدب النقدي ومواجهة البربرية" ودرس فيه الكاتب تصورات مدرسة فرانكفورت في الفكر الفلسفي العربي المعاصر ككل لكي لا نقول الفكر الفلسفي بالمغرب الذي يكاد ينعدم فيه الإهتمام بتصورات هذه المدرسة.
ومن خلال هذه الفصول الثلاث يأمل الكاتب يحيى بن الوليد –كما يقول- "أن نكون قد ألقينا بعض الضوء على موضوع "الكتابة" في مواجهتها" لـ "الهويات القاتلة"؛ وبالقدر نفسه يأمل أن نكون قد أفرغنا بعض "الشراب الجديد" في "قناتي" إدمون عمران المليح العتيقة والمتعددة (...) لما يمكن نعته بهاجس "الفكر القرائي" في سعيه إلى تكريس "النص المختلف".
