يجمع "محمد رضا" بين دفتي هذا الكتاب سيرة أمير المؤمنين، علي بن أبي طالب رضي الله عنه، رابع الخلفاء الراشدين، وابن عم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، وربيبه وصهره، وأبي السبطين الحسن والحسين، وأول الناس إسلاماً، وأقدمهم إيماناً، عَلَم من أعلام الدين، وأبرز الشجعان المجاهدين، وإمام المتقين، وقدوة الزاهدين، وأشهر الخطباء المفوهين، والعلماء العالمين، من جاهد في سبيل نصرة الدين منذ نعومة أظفاره إلى يوم وفاته، فما من غزوة إلا شهدها ورفع لواءها وأبلى فيها أصدق البلاء، وقاتل المشركين ودحر الأعداء، فسيرته نبراس الهداية، والإخلاص إلى النهاية. وهذا الكتاب يروي سيرة "علي بن أبي طالب" بتفصيل وافر، إذ يجمع بين حياته وجهوده، وفضائله، وخلافته، وخطبه، وكلماته، وحكمه، من غير تطويل ممثل، أو اختصار مخل. وبأسلوب قصصي ميسر يلفت انتباه الناشئ ويجذبه نحو مطالعة هذه السيرة الكريمة.
